Designation Program

Criteria

  • Campus work demonstrates a clear connection to one or more articles of The Texas Promise.
  • The work is transforming learning through meaningful, relevant, and challenging experiences that develop student voice, choice, agency, and ownership.
  • Educators are empowered as designers of learning and engage in purposeful innovation that deepens learning rather than simply meeting requirements.
  • A culture of trust, relationships, collaboration, wellness, and belonging enables students and staff to feel known, valued, supported, and connected.
  • Campus leadership is grounded in a clear, student-centered purpose and develops shared leadership, collective responsibility, and continuous growth.

How to Become a School Transforming Learning

What Campuses are Eligible for Nomination?
  • Campuses led by former and current PIs that have not already been designated.
Who Can Nominate a Campus?
  • PIs can nominate their campuses.
  • Superintendents or designated central administration representatives may nominate one or more campuses.
How to Nominate a Campus (Nomination packets must contain ALL items listed)
  • Tell the campus' story in a 1-2 page (maximum) document* organized in the following sections:
    • Overview and Background
    • Focus Areas — which Texas Promise article(s) you're aligned to
    • Learning in Action — what the work looks like for students
    • Educator Practice — how staff collaborate, take risks, and reflect 
    • Culture and Leadership — campus climate and how leadership enabled this work
    • Results - evidence of impact
  • Provide a look at the campus' work in action through a 5-minute (maximum) video.*
    • The video must align with the information provided in the application.
    • Videos may be submitted as a link or file, but MUST be accessible for all the STL review committee without requesting permission.
    • *If a nominated campus is selected for STL designation, documents and videos will be posted at www.n2learning.org.
  • Include:
    • Nominee campus’ name, district, address, principal, email, and phone number.
    • Nominator’s name and contact information.
    • Superintendent’s Endorsement
How to Submit Completed Nomination Packets

Email to stephanie.edgar@n2learning.org with the subject line: “Nomination – Schools Transforming Learning”.

Nomination packet** checklist:

  • 1-2 page (maximum) document
  • 5-minute (maximum) video (Note: link or file MUST be accessible without permissions for all review committee members)
  • Nominee campus’ name, district, address, principal, email, and phone number
  • Nominator’s name and contact information
  • Superintendent's Endorsement document

**If a nominated campus is selected for STL designation, documents and videos will be posted at www.n2learning.org.

Recognition/Celebration
  • Designated campuses will be:
    • Recognized during the Annual Conference
    • Showcased on the website through a virtual Schools Transforming Learning tour
Timeline
  • January 29, 2027 - Nominations Due
  • February 26, 2027 - Committee review of nominations; follow-up communication with campuses as needed (expect campus visits from committee representatives)
  • March 1, 2027 - Notify all nominees of results
  • May 3, 2027 - Recognize and celebrate designated campuses during Annual Conference
